“Oh my gosh! We have just looked at our photos and I am crying here! They are so wonderful!! I literally LOVE them all!!! How can we ever thank you for capturing our day so perfectly?”
– Emma and Jamie Brückner
Emma and Jamie were married in October at The Bull Hotel. This rustic, country hotel is situated in the historic village of Wrotham, Kent. It was a beautiful day and the autumnal sun shone all day long!
Emma got ready in the hotel’s bridal suite with her mum, sister, mother-in-law, and daughter Kitty. And the atmosphere was full of excitement.
Well, maybe not for Kitty! A late night and a lot of waiting around can be hard work. But luckily mum came to the rescue with snacks and games on her tablet!
I left the ladies to let them get dressed and went for a wander around the hotel to photograph all of the guests arriving. Emma and Jamie’s guest were relaxing in the courtyard, while the rest of the wedding party were trying to figure out how to put their buttonholes on.
The ceremony was held in The Buttery. With fairy lights around the exposed beams, and simple but elegant decoration, it looked amazing. Jamie looked a little nervous up at the front but had his best men to keep him company.
Emma’s mum walked her down the aisle and gave her away. And, during the ceremony, they had a reading given by Jamie’s mum. It was a very emotional ceremony, with lots of happy tears.
I might have even welled up at a little bit at one point too!
The drinks reception was one of my favourite parts of the day, everyone was happy and there was lots of hugging, kissing and congratulating going on. Lot’s of opportunity to document all the emotion of a wedding day!
When it was time for food, I left everyone to eat (no one wants a picture of themselves with their mouth full!). I headed to the bar and I was very kindly fed a roast dinner, which was absolutely delicious.
The speeches were another emotional part of the day. I loved capturing all the reactions to Emma’s sister’s touching speech and the hilarious speech given by the best man Craig.
After the cake cutting, Emma and Jamie took to the dancefloor for their first dance as husband and wife, before being joined by their guests. And after a bit more dancing, including an expertly choreographed Macarena and an enthusiastic Cotton Eye Joe, I said my goodbyes.
It was an amazing day, and all of Emma and Jamie’s guest made me feel like part of the family. A big thank you to Emma and Jamie, and all of your guests, it was an honour to be part of your wedding.
